In , hardcore blew up. Killswitch Engage released what would eventually become a gold record, Hatebreed was nominated for a Grammy and everything changed—again. Before that, hardcore and metal were the genres of the underground and the bands were kind of like members of a secret society. Local hardcore shows, which had been topping out at people on a good night, were suddenly drawing upward of people. It was great exposure for bands that were just starting up or had been playing under the radar for a few years.

Man Shot Dead Outside Salt Lake City Hardcore Show
Clear is straight edge hardcore group from Utah in the mid-late s, known for its punk hardcore sound, similar to Culture and Morning Again. The band broke up in Levi and Mick previously also played in Decontaminate. Sean and Tyler went on to form Hammergun. In Mick Morris died prompting Clear to do a memorial show for his son.
Post a Comment. All of our songs were about death, suicide and self-loathing. The band built a solid following and were soon turning heads with their new, darker approach to hardcore. The Salt Lake scene had been dominated by the likes of Insight, Iceburn and the Flatline Records roster during the early 90s--either traditionally-rooted or bizzarely-experimental.
